The Story of the Oppressors and the Crawlers

There once were six men who had all decided within themselves that they would go up a steep mountain to meet the LORD: because he waited for them there. Now three of the six men could walk, but the other three could only but crawl. It came to pass that the three walkers had decided amongst themselves that they would tread upon the backs of those who crawled in order to oppress them. *So that they would never have the strength to walk*
Now the first crawler was a valiant man, so he said within himself, “There is a heavy burden upon my back, perhaps if I should attempt to stand, this weight may be lifted. Then I will be able to walk up this mountain in full strength.” So, at once, he festered all of his available strength, and exerted a great force upward *So that he was able to stand to his feet.* Then he proclaimed, “Behold, I can now walk whereas I could only crawl before.”
As the first crawler stood, the oppressor (which stood upon his back) fell to the ground. Afterwards, the first oppressor said, “by treading upon THIS man’s back, I have made him but stronger than before. For he once crawled, but now he walks as I do.” *So that oppressor had become afraid because one of the crawlers endured the spirit of oppression.*
Now the second crawler acknowledged that there was an oppressor upon his back: and the second crawler said to himself, “THIS man was once a crawler like me, but now he is able to walk. He has managed to overtake that oppressor that once stood upon his back.” So the second crawler was motivated to stand also. *since he saw that it was possible* So, like the first man, he girded up his available energy and pushed upward with a great force until he, too, stood to his feet. Now, because of this, the second crawler had begun to mock at the oppressor that he threw from his back *because, in enduring the spirit of oppression, he was now stronger than he.*
The two oppressors which had fallen from the first two crawlers decided to walk for the time being. *For they were now afraid of the two crawlers that now walked.*
Now, soon after these things, the second crawler saw that the first crawler (now walker) was some ways ahead of him. For he said, “This man is, perhaps, the strongest of us all; for he is far ahead of me.” With this thought, the second crawler had purposed to throw stones at the back of the first crawler in hopes that he would slow him down, afflict him, and overtake him also.
So the second crawler hurled stones one after another at the back of the first crawler until he, himself, had grown weary. *He had exerted all of his energy throwing stones as opposed to walking.* Therefore, he became very weak, and he fell to the ground into a crawling position (once again).
The third crawler saw that the other men walked, but he was overwhelmed by the spirit of oppression. (For there was an oppressor upon his back weighing down on him) Therefore, he griped and complained for the affliction that he was experiencing. During this time, he had grown so weak that he could go no further, for he said, “This is as far as I can crawl.” So he died there in the middle of his journey. Now as the third crawler gave up the ghost, the third oppressor (who had once treaded upon him) saw that he was dead, and he became exceedingly remorseful. For he said, “what have I done, I have oppressed this gentleman, and now he is dead. I did not intend for his death, but only that he would never walk as I do. I have done a foolish thing. Let me warn the others so that they do not oppress another. *So from that moment, the third oppressor was no longer an oppressor.
Meanwhile, the other two oppressors said to one another, “this crawler (the second) once walked, but is now weak again. Perhaps we should tread upon him together so that he can not recover. While they were yet contemplating this act, the third once-oppressor approached them and said, “Men do not oppress this man any longer: lest you murder him as I have done to that crawler some ways ago.” The second oppressor, then, said to him, “I want none of THAT spirit you have. Leave me be, this crawler is not a man deserving of mercy. We have watched him throw stones at his own, therefore we are justified in what we do.” In like manner, the first oppressor said, “Leave us be, this is the last man who crawls, if he should walk, we will be the weakest of all. Therefore, we will do as we please for our pride’s sake.” Then the once-oppressor responded by saying, “Do as you please, but just know that as much as you oppress this gentleman, you oppress yourselves also.” The other two disregarded his reproof and did as they pleased. *So they, both, stood upon the second crawler to oppress him once again.*
After the once-oppressor spoke to the other men, he looked ahead of him and saw that the first crawler (now walker) was valiantly enduring his journey. Therefore he made acquaintance with him, and they strengthened, and encouraged, one another as the walked up the mountain.
Meanwhile, the second crawler had now descended back to the crawling position. *For he grew weak from throwing stones* (The other two oppressors had decided to oppress him once again to keep him from walking) It came to pass that the second crawler was exceedingly contrite for what he had done to his brother. For he said, “It was very foolish to throw stones at my brother. For my error, I have been brought low again. I must reconcile again to my brother. But it is even more difficult now seeing as I now have two oppressors and not one.” Nonetheless, the second crawler had festered up every ounce of his strength to overthrow the oppressors. As he did this, he threw himself upward with an exceedingly great force. (Even greater than before – for he now had a righteous motive) As he rose upward, the two oppressors were thrown from his back. But THIS time, there ‘happened’ to be a gaping hole in the ground where they had fallen *So they were both swallowed up by the mouth of the pit, and they were seen no more.*
As the second crawler now stood he said aloud, “I am forever grateful for this mercy: I have the ability to walk again. But let me not walk in vain, let me reconcile with my brother, and thereby will I reconcile with my LORD also.
So he finally caught up with the other two men and he said to the one whom he had wronged, “Brother please forgive me, for I have done foolishly against you. For it was I who threw those stones at you some ways ago. It was not the oppressor, but it was I. Please forgive me.” The once-crawler said, “what oppressors, and what stones? I was not aware of any opposition all this time. For I was focused on my goal – meeting the LORD at the top of the mountain. I tell you, whatever you have done, it is forgiven you.”
When he said that, the second crawler, now walker, said in astonishment, “ surely you are a righteous man.” After he had spoken to his brother, he turned to the other man and said, “ was it not you who bid those oppressors not to tread upon me when I was yet at my weakest?” The once-oppressor said to him, “Yes, it was me. Like you, I have, also, reconciled with the LORD. For I was once an oppressor, and now I am a messenger.” The second walker said to him, “surely you are strong, for you, too, have endured the spirit of oppression. Let us go up this mountain and forget what was behind.”
And it came to pass as they were close to the top of the mountain, the LORD looked down on the three and smiled. He, then, said, “Of the six men that I have invited, I knew that you three would return to me. Come now and rest from your journey.”

You care about what people say and think about you…

You don’t have the courage to think for yourself…

You’d rather do what’s “hot” and “acceptable” in order to be accepted, even if you don’t really agreed with it…

You know that you should be doing better for yourself, “but that would be smart, and we don’t want that…lol”

You say “you’re just living your life”…I’d elect to call it “Losing your life…”

You’d rather not find out how something REALLY works because that’s too much work…

You do just enough to get by…And you don’t do more than what’s asked of you…

Everyone wants to be better-off…but no one is really willing to do what it takes..

It is this VERY mentality that contributes to all of the foolishness that goes on now-a-days. All of the “squabbling and bickering” about NOTHING AT ALL…

People living for NOTHING AT ALL…

People dying for NOTHING AT ALL…

People fighting for NOTHING AT ALL…

People hating each other for NOTHING AT ALL…

Musical “Artists” talking about NOTHING AT ALL…

Politicians talking about NOTHING AT ALL…

Children building their hopes and dreams of NOTHING AT ALL…

Parents teaching their children NOTHING AT ALL…

Fools talking amongst themselves about NOTHING AT ALL…

Marriages Commencing for NOTHING AT ALL…

Marriages ending for NOTHING AT ALL…

People pretending for NOTHING AT ALL…

Society rewarding people for NOTHING AT ALL…

Teachers talking about NOTHING AT ALL…

Fools celebrating for what?!?!?!

NOTHING AT ALL…

A huge problem is people feeling that they “deserve” something, or are “entitled” to “this” or “that”…

But the truth is…NONE of us deserve ANYTHING…It’s by the grace of GOD that you have the little that you do…

Also thank him for his mercy…which falls on the JUST as well as the UNJUST…

I just want people to have more regard, and responsibility, for the things that they do and say…If this happens, EVERYONE will be better off until the end of the world…

“Can one blind man lead another…lest they both fall into a ditch?” think about it…

One of my main goals is to ensure that my listeners are increasing in every aspect of life. Therefore, this album will be very dynamic and one that you'll never get tired of.

It's been re-titled.....A Wise Man's Dissertation...

This will definitely be a project to remember...Coming from a 21-year old who has experienced more than his years let on...It is sure to be an album that will evoke thought and reform.

How Much Money Do You Need?

What's Up Everybody, I'd like start off by saying.

"I Like Money, and all of the things that it has done, and will do, for myself and my family."

With that said, I want to address a subject that is seldom talked about....

So Here we Go....

Everyone says that, "If they were Rich, everything would be better."

True...but Not true....

If your intentions with your money are constructive and worthwhile, then chances are you will be a "VERY HAPPY RICH PERSON."

However, If your intentions are Trivial and Destructive, then your lifestyle will, too, follow that notion.

Have you ever made the statement, "Man I wish I was Rich."
Be careful what you wish for, because you may not understand what you're getting yourself into.

Don't Get Me Wrong... There's nothin' wrong with money and the things that it can do for this world, but if a large sum of Money falls into the "wrong" hands, It can do more HARM than GOOD...

If your intention for being rich is to buy yourself, and your "friends," 100 Houses with 20-car garages....Meanwhile, there are kids around the world, and in YOUR community, suffering from hunger and poverty...Then you should truly be ashamed of yourself...

Have you ever wondered why some rich people become "crazy," or abnormal. It's the side effects of the Wild Money they have...Even though they have billions, they chase more money assuming that it'll satisfy them...I mean, what If the "sun goes down your attempt to MAKE MORE MONEY?" Not only do you NOT get to enjoy the extra money you were chasing, but you didn't even get to enjoy the money you had....and that's when I shake my head in pity....

On that same note, Not all rich people are unhappy. The rich people who have attained a true "Inner Peace" are the one's who die happy and leave their estates to their heirs.....(Many Strive For this, but few actually obtain it)...

Alright...

SO....Let's assume you had just accumulated a small fortune. Would you run and tell everyone you know, or would you stay put?

I already know your answers to this one...

You'd run and tell everybody you know so you could "ball and stunt..."..lol...Then You'd give your "friends and family" everything they wanted until you have NOTHING LEFT...So now what?...you're back where you started...

Here's the thing... If you're rich, and everyone knows you're rich...They only see one thing and one thing only....Your Money!...Suddenly everybody's your "FAMILY," and It's impossible to have a normal conversation with anyone without them asking you for something .................Think about it, that's gotta be frustrating...

Go ahead, pursue your goals, hopes, dreams, and beyond...

I, personally, wish you the best of success, AND that you do, one day, become RICH!...

I just hope that your intentions with your wealth are constructive....

Why Do Hater Hate?...Stop The "Hateration"

We all know them, and some of us are even friends with them....Im talking about Haters!

-First of all, Who Are Haters?

We'll quite simply, Haters are envious individuals who can't obtain what another person has. Haters are unhappy, or unsatisfied, with themselves and where they are in life{financially, physically,emotionally}, so the "only" way that they can feel "better" about themselves is to "dish-rag" other folks. You know..."Misery loves company"

-So, How can you spot a Hater?

We'll this is really simple...Haters are our friends, relatives, and sometimes co-workers. They only speak NEGATIVITY. If Someone is talking about another individual in a negative manner without any intention of building them up afterward...THEY'RE HATING....

In Contrast, If a person talks about someone, and then builds them up afterwards...Its called CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM.

-Beware! Haters are everywhere!

If you deem a person as being a Hater, Don't spend too much time with them...because their "hateration" could rub off on YOU!

So, How Do You Combat Someone that is Hating on You?

Also very Simple...You just "Be Yourself" and don't "Give in" to their scheme. If you acknowledge their nonsense, then they've "Got you where they want you."

Love Yourself....and Have confidence in everything that you do....Also address any "hateration" with "witty" remarks.

Chances are...For every one Hater you have...3, or more, of their friends are probably YOUR SUPPORTERS!

So, needless to say, Just "stick to your guns" and don't give in to the "hateration."

Eventually, the hater will see that all of his/her friends likes you, so they have no choice but to like you as well...You Know "If you can't Beat em'...Join em'"

-What Does Suede Think about Haters?

We'll Haters will be here until then end of time, so you might as well find a way to combat them...I, for one, am extremely confident in myself and my abilities, so therefore I have absolutely NO reason to hate on another individual.

And You Should Feel The Same Way!

-The Bottom Line is...."IF YOU'RE NOT BEING HATED ON...THEN THERE IS A PROBLEM"

Let Me explain...
If no one is hating on you...Then you're irrelavent, and not worth talking about. So, basically, We need haters to help us "increase our exposure"
Because remember..."No Publicity is Bad publicity"....right...

And if you are a Hater...Just Know that you can never be satisfied in life by talking about other people {That changes nothing!}. You can only obtain "True" happiness by finding Your "Inner Peace" and confiding in yourself and your strong-points.

Soonafter, You'll find yourself congratulating someone else on their accomplishments, because you know that you have a "GREAT LIFE AWAITING YOU."

So There You Go....That is all..

My personal ways to stay "Recession-Proof."

1. Track Your Spending Closely.
Make sure that you know how much you're spending...Remember, a rich man DOES NOT spend every dime he has...A good way to track your spending is to record all of your significant purchases (such as...furniture, computers, miscellaneous entertainment, etc...)

2. Create a Budget.
A budget helps you "live within your means." You'll want to plan a budget that isn't too demanding, yet challenges you to save...which leads me to my next tip..

3. Start Saving Now!!!
Many people underestimate the significance in saving. Saving requires what I like to call "financial discipline," but WILL help you in the long-run. You're NEVER too young to save....The EARLIER...the BETTER...

4. Build/Maintain a Respectible Credit Score.
It's easier said than done....I know, but it's important. Make your "small" purchases on Credit...And try, if possible, to make other payments in cash...
If you CAN pay for it in Cash, then you should. The thing that kills people isn't the loan amount...but rather the INTEREST on the loan...

5. Borrow Conservatively
I, for one, am not a huge borrower, because I don't like being in debt. If you have to borrow money, make sure that you only borrow what YOU NEED(nothing more). The money looks great when you first get it, but it could really hurt/discourage you in the long-run....

LIVE SMART, WORK LESS.....LET YOUR MONEY DO THE SLAVING...

Black Suede a.k.a 6 Stakks in the hood has the gift of making/writing music for all genres. With the co-sign from super known names such as Jermaine Dupri and Clive Davis this free agent is not only the Realist R&B artist.... PERIOD, but he is destined for success in the industry with or without approval.. This is what an unbridled passion to succeed sounds like.. NOW LISTEN!!!

GLOK: Expanding beyond the normal (and shining light on the slept on state).. Time to do it South Cak -a-lac style once again.. Got the homie Black Suede in the studio with me.. How you feeling today fam?

BLACK SUEDE: I’m Chillin’… Chillin’… doing’ good.

GLOK: Who is Black Suede, and how would you describe what you do?

BLACK SUEDE: Black Suede is a way of life.. A brand (if you will). What some artists fail to understand while coming up in the game is that your name is just as much of a product as you are. Therefore, you should treat it as such.. You know.. I'm here to make good music and a difference in the lives of others and the world around us.

GLOK: You have a very timeless sound and style.. A mixture of smooth R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, (and many other Top-40 genres)... When did you realize that real musicians don't limit themselves?.. and is it possible for you to pick a favorite genre of music?

BLACK SUEDE: Well I want to start by saying’ that there’s no such thing as “White music” and “Black music”.. It’s all the same to me. I primarily focus on R&B, but at the same time, I am a Music producer, so, in order to be successful, I have to be able to make beats for many types of artists from all genres. In the process, I think, I’ve become one of the most marketable musicians out there. And As you would probably assume, I have no true favorite genre.. Good music is Good music.. Right now, I mainly listen to Hip-Hop and R&B.

GLOK: How did you get your name?

BLACK SUEDE: The name Black Suede was something that I came up with. Being that I am laid back and smooth.. Just like Suede..lol. Black because I’m a dark-skinned dude.. In case you can’t tell..lol. But I’ve always embraced that.. and That’s why all the shawties kick it with me on Saturdays (lol).. As far as my Hood name…(6 stakks).. lol.. Well, my homies used to always tease me on the fact that I drove a Pontiac 6000 LE…, so they just started calling’ me 6 stakks (and yea I still have that car to this date).

GLOK: Can you remember back to when you first discovered Hip-Hop?

BLACK SUEDE: I used to listen to a lot of Hip-Hop growing up, but I didn’t really know what it was until I got a little older. When I heard Pac, Biggie, and Jay I knew that this genre was here to stay.

GLOK: I always give artists the chance to reflect on what they have been through (the good, the bad, and the ugly) to get where they are today.. Let's touch on Suede's journey for a moment.. What was life like for you growing up in Rock Hill (shout out to Cran Neely) & Columbia , South Carolina ?

BLACK SUEDE: You know growing up in Columbia was pretty rough. My moms was a single mother, but she made sure that me and my brothas and sistas had what we needed. We didn’t have much, but I can honestly say that I’ve come from “Nothin’ to Somethin’” (Shots out to Loso).. I’m not ashamed of where I’ve come from, and the hardships that I’ve had to overcome.. That’ll just mean that my autobiographical movie will be that much more interesting (lol).

GLOK: So this Hustler's Mentality that you've applied to moving your music and that you say you will "always have".. Does that come from you being in the game (on the block gettin it in or whatever)?.. or is this just how you roll when it comes to achieving what you want?

BLACK SUEDE: A little of both. Those who hear me talk and interact wouldn’t know that I used to spend countless hours out there on the streets…They would have to ask me about it.. You know, when it comes down to it, I’m proud of where I’ve been, because without that background.. I wouldn’t have my thoroughness and Hustler’s instinct.. So yeah, I’m all of the above.

GLOK: What are your views on the South Carolina Hip-Hop/Music scene at the moment?

BLACK SUEDE: Right now, I think that some individuals in South Carolina are too focused on the local level.. I mean.. We have some talent down here, but a lot of them don’t get discovered because they either, lack motivation or the know-how.. I, on the other hand, have made it my business to learn my business. That is.. I’ve read countless books and listened to many entertainment lawyers in order to get a grasp of how the industry really works.. It’s not enough anymore to only have a good creative side.. You have to also understand where your money’s going’.. ya know?!?

GLOK: Who would you say are your musical influences, and why?

BLACK SUEDE: Definitely I’d have to say Akon and T-Pain right now.. They’ve done so much for the industry in the little time that they’ve been here.. I think they’re musical geniuses.. For them to be able to combine R&B and Hip-Hop the way they do definitely excites me about my craft.. So when I make my music.. I compare it to theirs to see if it would hit in the market.

GLOK: You’re in college now (Business and Finance Major) correct?.. Do you promote higher learning (unlike most artists these days)?

BLACK SUEDE: I obviously think that a College education is recommended, but not required.. I mean, there are countless artists who have been very successful without a degree.. I’m in College because after my years as an artist, I still want to be wealthy, therefore I feel that College is right for me.

GLOK: Do you still ghostwrite for other artists?

BLACK SUEDE: Occasionally, I do.. (but) I wouldn’t be a ghostwriter if I told you who I’ve written for.. lol.. but real talk, I’m a serious songwriter.. I pride myself on being able to put words together so well.

GLOK: What do you love most about South Carolina ?

BLACK SUEDE: Let me see (hmmm).. We don’t have any professional teams, and our College teams suck.. lol.. We don’t have much excitement going’ on out here.. I will say that it’s good to see all of the historical monuments and artifacts from the war and stuff.. Overall, Yeah South Carolina is really laid back (it fits my personality).

GLOK: With the major label system going down quicker than a Vegas hooker a lot of people believe this is a great time for indie artists.. What do you think?

BLACK SUEDE: (lol).. I think so, however, I’m almost certain that the majors have something up their sleeves to continue operating in the music industry.. Example, they’re using the 360 deal to get a portion of their artist’s earnings outside of the music industry.. Eventually, bye and bye, the music industry (as we know it) WILL become obsolete.. But the MUSIC will still continue.

GLOK: You have been selling your own music/product out of your trunk since 2007.. How many units or CD's have you personally moved as an unsigned artist?

BLACK SUEDE: Aww man.. That’s a good one.. ummm.. I don’t have an exact number, but I’d say around a couple thousand CD’s (give or take a few hundred).. I must say at $10 a pop, that ain’t doing’ too bad ya feel me.

GLOK: The major label system will NEVER be the same and produce those major dollars and deals because the indie artists got tired of begging for a deal and getting rejected.. Indie artists are smarter now, and technology has provided the tools to create your OWN label, buzz, $, etc.

BLACK SUEDE: The Hip-Hop/music industry, as a whole, is moving away from the record sales, and into an iTunes era.. Fortunately though, there are avenues for indie artists to make a decent living without the major label backing.. Many artists are signing on with KOCH Records, which allows them to retain most of their album revenues. (They split 50/50).. The bottom line is that If you truly want success…you’ll stop at nothing to obtain it (str8 up).

GLOK: What's your favorite Gangster Movie?

BLACK SUEDE: Aww man.. If I don’t say SCARFACE (what kind of G would I be?).. lol.. A modern day movie that I'm diggin’ is AMERICAN GANGSTER.. I’ve seen it like a hundred times, and I can recite all of Frank’s lines (verbatim).. So yea that’s another favorite.

GLOK: Obama will need the spirits of MLK, Kennedy, FDR and Lincoln, as well as a patient public to fulfill his vision of CHANGE.. Do you think people fully understand that if we don't "unite as one" Obama's win will somewhat be fruitless?

BLACK SUEDE: I don’t think that we truly understand that concept.. Obama winning the Presidency shows how far we’ve come as a nation, but we still have a lot of growing to do.. Discrimination still looms in the cities and a lot of things have been said, which lets me know that everyone isn’t on the same page.. If we all don’t set aside our differences and unite, we can't truly progress as a nation.

GLOK Fight Cards: Who do you think would win in a 5 round UFC match between Pimpin Curly (a.k.a 50 Cent) and Officer Ross (a.k.a Rick Ross)?.. Lil Ike (a.k.a Chris Brown) -vs- Trey Songz?

BLACK SUEDE: Ha ha ha, aww man.. In the UFC, I’ma have to give it to 50.. But I’m willing to bet money that Ross gone have the Chopper waiting for 50 before he leaves the arena (lol).. As for Chris Brown and Trey Seezy?!?.. I think I'ma give it to Trey.. He seems like he got that hood in him.

GLOK: It always excites me to see new faces/voices get the approval from well known industry names.. You have been commended and acknowledged by music industry heavyweights such as: Keith Sweat, Clive Davis (J Records), Jermaine Dupri (So So Def), just to name a few.. What has been your greatest accomplishment so far?.. and have these industry all-stars presented you with any good deals or offers yet?

BLACK SUEDE: I’ve been recognized by numerous individuals (in and outside the music industry), but I have to say that my greatest accomplishments so far have to be random people walking up to me and asking, “I know you.. You’re Black Suede!".. That means more to me than anything else. I’ve gotten a lot of looks from a number of labels (majors and Indies ), but I haven’t seen the right package yet. I’m not looking for a huge advance, I just want an opportunity for longevity in the long run.

GLOK: You have produced for some high level artists also.. Can you do a little name dropping for us?

BLACK SUEDE: Well I’ve produced for Nova Soprano’s mix tape.. He’s represented by G-Unit West (you know.. Spider Loc and the boys).. Another off the top of my head Is Urban Heat/Universal. They have an up and coming teenage pop artist that they needed songs for, so you know I was all in. These are just a couple, but I produced so many beats for so many people (signed and unsigned) that I literally lose track of them.. I guess pretty soon, I’ll need a discography huh (lol)?

Everybody...this summer has been a roller coaster for ya boy, but I've enjoyed every minute of it. I am now working harder than ever on my music...n it's just a matter of time before you'll hear my songs on the radio...
